HowTheLightGetsIn Hay is set in a magical location on the edge of the Black Mountains, alongside the river Wye in the famed book town of Hay. The site is located just off Newport Street, HR3 5BZ. It is about a 5 minute walk from the Globe at Hay, Newport St, Hay-on-Wye, Hereford.
Train
- There is no train station in Hay-on-Wye itself. The nearest station is in Hereford (20-21 miles / -35 km away)
- From London you can take direct and connecting trains to Hereford with services like Great Western Railway.
- From Hereford Station you can continue your journey via:
- Local buses from Hereford to Hay-on-Wye, with regular services operating most of the week
- Taxi - local companies operate from Hereford.
Bus
- There are scheduled bus services from Hereford and Brecon to Hay-on-Wye (e.g. route T14 and 39A).
- Once you arrive in Hay town centre, it's a short walk to the festival site.

- Hay-on-Wye is well signposted from the A438 between Brecon and Hereford.
